BRIEF PROFILE OF PROF S.G.S.MURTHY

Prof. S.G.S. Murthy joined M.V.S.R Engineering College, Hyderabad in the year 1986, as an Asst. Professor in the department of Civil Engineering, after a brief stint in M/s. L & T. He has graduated in Civil Engineering from college of Engineering of U.U in 1983 and holds a P.G degree in structural engineering. His areas of interest are Structural design, high performance concrete and retrofitting of structures in distress.

 He is the construction coordinator in MVSR Engineering College, who planned and executed the present campus in Nadergul. He has secured several consultancy assignments from M/s. GHMC, M/s. Singareni Collieries and several industries to the college. Apart from being the best teacher awardee he is also on the reviewer panel of M/s. Tata Mcgraw Hill, a prestigious publishing company. Prof. Murthy is an accredited structural and Proof consultant to M/s. GHMC, Govt. of erstwhile A.P, M/s. Engineers India Ltd. a premier engineering consultancy organization of Govt. of India, apart from several Govt / quasi govt organizations, for their Engineering Assignments. He was heading department of Civil Engineering during 2006-2010. He is an accredited structural, Proof and retrofitting consultant to several organizations like M/s. Air Liquide, M/s. Indian Statistical Institute, M/s. Nalco, M/s. Rayalseema Alkalies, M/s. Hyderabad Food products, M/s. Agakhan foundation, M/s. ECIL, M/s. MECONS, M/s. Astramicro Waves Pvt Ltd, M/s. APCPDCL, M/s. Sree Rayalaseema Petrochemicals, Banks like SBI and Syndicate Bank amongst many others. He has guided 10 P.G student projects apart from organizing four national conferences. He has authored several reports and three publications in structural engineering. He is fellow Institute of valuers, Fellow Institute of Engineers, Fellow Indian Society of Technical Education, apart from holding senior membership in several professional bodies. He is presently the Vice Principal and Director Administration in    M.V.S.R Engineering College.
