Central Library

The college Library has a very rich collection of, some of which rare Engineering and technology books. In addition, each department has a separate departmental library. The library is following open access system and provides services to meet the requirements of students and staff members of the college. It has various sections such as Circulation section, Periodicals section, Reprographic section, Reference section, E-Resource centre, Back volumes section, conference Hal, Property Counter and the entire library is under the courage of C C Cameras.    

Reference Section - Timings 9:30 AM to 6 PM

Area: 385.08 Sqmts, Multimedia system-01, seating capacity:176

In this section, we have displayed 9,476 number of textbooks and related reference books required for the semester courses for all engineering disciplines for consulting within the reference section. These books are not issued to the readers for borrowing.

It is maintained by well - versed and fully qualified staff. They are fully conversant with the holdings of the section and also they are fully acquainted with the reference materials available in the reference section. They guide the readers to find out the requisite materials and they also provide requisite information efficiently.

The staff of the reference section having always sympathetic attitude towards the reader and they try to provide Right Book to Right Reader in Right Time.

Periodical Section

Bulk of primary source literature appears in the form of periodicals. The periodicals articles is the means of communication for the exchange of Scientific and Technical. Information contains in periodicals is almost invariably more up to date than that appearing in books. Periodicals usually reports the result of recent research more quickly than books. Information on new processes and discoveries can appear in a periodical with in week of their formulation. We observe that much of the materials reported in a periodicals is never published in books. Therefore we maintain back volumes of periodicals.

Selection of periodicals for technical institution is a challenging job for the teachers and librarian, because there is need to concentrate on current and latest technical developments in the field of science and technology and it has to brought to the notice of students and staff. Therefore we consider the recommendations of teacher, head of the department and students for selection of periodicals. The subscription for periodicals we paid annually in advance.

Circulation:

Circulation or lending department is one of the key departments of a library. Circulation section is the heart of the library. This section acts as a bridge between the user and the documents. The circulation section and its functions are fully automated by using the library management software NewGenLib. Each student can take 7 books for each semester. Each book can be renewed up to two times to each student. 

E-Resource Centre: Timings: 9.30AM to 6PM

In the centre readers can access Internet and a large number of IEEE, ASCE, ASME, J-GATE, IEI, DELNET, INFLIBNET, NDL, NPTEL and a large stack of CRROM’s and other audiovisuals for both in-house and at home use. Back Volume Section:

The back volume section contains 934 volumes of old periodicals and 4508 CDROM’s for students’ reference. The back volumes are used only inside of the library and CDROM’s will be issued to the readers. 

Conference Hall:

Conference hall is for singular events such as staff and students’ conferences, meeting, group discussions and for conducting of events etc. It is well equipped with multimedia system with L C D Projector, audio systems and split Air-conditioning.
