Lecture on "Learn by Doing Approach"

Department of Computer science Engineering of our college had conducted a guest lecture on ‘Learn By Doing Approach' on 19th Jan, 2013 for the students BE (CSE) and BE(IT). Dr. Raja Subramanian is the Co-Founder & CEO of Radix Learning, was invited for this event. He explained the importance of programming and the logic that needs to be applied. He also helped students  solve few interesting programming problems. Students appreciated the lucid quality of lecture and wanted such lectures more in future.

Brief Profile of Dr. Raja Subramanian KRV

Dr. Subramanian has to his credit, a unique blend of academic and corporate experience where he has led from the front for over 30 years. His interests on the technical side include diverse areas such as software engineering, object technology, software architecture, instructional design, and eLearning. He has also served as Director and Secretary in the prestigious International Board of Standards for Training, Performance & Instruction (www.ibstpi.org). He served as Professor of Computer Science and Dean of Work-Integrated Learning at Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS) in Pilani. During his tenure as Dean, the work-integrated learning programs grew multifold in terms of revenue, number of degree programs, student enrolment, etc. He conceptualized and initiated the BITS Virtual University, one of the first of its kind in India at that time. He is also an Adjunct Professor of IIIT, Bangalore and BITS, Pilani where he is involved in R&D work in the area of computer-based assessment of competencies. At IIIT, Bangalore, he is also actively involved in research and consulting work in the area of task-centric, computer-based assessments, especially for the Directorate-General of Shipping.

Dr. Subramanian holds a Master’s Degree in Economics, a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science.
