“National Science Day “was celebrated by students of the Department of Applied Sciences on February 28th 2019. The event was organized by Faculty of Physics to commemorate the invention of Raman Effect by Sir C.V.Raman in the year 1928. The coordinators of the event were Dr.Rekha Dom and Ms.M.D.V.Srilalitha, Assistant Professors of Physics.
The objective of the program was to widely spread a message about the significance of scientific applications in the daily life of the people, to encourage students as well as popularize science and technology.
In this regard, competition on poster and model exhibits was conducted for the students of BE I/IV on the same day in Physics Lab I. The theme for the competition was “Science and Technology for the sustainable future”. The emphasis was on the science behind technology. Students participated in groups with a maximum of three students in each group. There were 18 posters and 20 models exhibited by the students. The participants answered the queries raised by the Judges, Professors and the other prominent visitors from various departments. Cash Prizes were awarded for the best models and posters. Certificates were distributed for all the participants.
