Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Department of Information Technology in collaboration with E&ICT, NIT Warangal hosted one week Faculty Development Programme on Big Data Analytics during 7^th to 12^th August 2018. We thank Dr. R.B.V.Subramanyam that MVSR Engineering College, Hyderabad was given the chance to host Big Data Analytics FDP. Dr. A. V.Krishna Prasad,Assoc. Prof. CSE Dept. And Dr. K.Nikitha, Assoc. Prof. IT Dept. was selected as coordinators. All the faculty of CSE and IT Department has supported and given their efforts in organizing this FDP. This FDP was attended by 45 participants including two participants from abroad, three research scholars, three from industry and faculty.

The main objective of the FDP was to provide hands-on familiarity with Hadoop and R-Programming in an on-going process of data management and data analysis. This program was aimed at enhancing the knowledge in Big Data Analytics so that more number of faculty can do research in this field. There was an overwhelming response and the participants are faculty, research scholars and industry professionals from diverse locations.

The Inaugural session was presided by Dr. G. Kanaka Durga, Principal, MVSREC, Dr.Akhil Khare, Prof & Head CSE Dept, Dr. Ch. Samson, Prof & Head IT Dept, Dr. Hanumandlu, Prof., CSE Dept and Mr. Ashwini Kumar, Assoc. Prof, IT Dept, Dr. R.B.V. Subramanyam, Prof & Head, CSE Dept, NIT Warangal graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

On the first day of programme, Dr. R.B.V. Subramanyam covered overview of Big Data in the keynote address, followed by Data Management. In the afternoon session, Dr. R.B.V. Subramanyam discussed about Hadoop Eco System and Map-Reduce Computing. Hands on of Hadoop Eco System by Dr. R.B.V Subramanyam and team on second day was given.

On the third day Dr. Ramakrishnudu, Assoc. Prof., CSE Dept., NITW covered hands-on using R-Programming followed by Classification and Clustering techniques. Data Visualization using R is also provided.

Dr. Radha Krishna, Prof. CSE Dept. NITW, on fourth day discussed about social media analytics, graph analytics and some research ideas. Twitter Data analytics and other related case studies were given by Dr. A.V.Krishna Prasad, Associate Professor, CSE Dept. 

On the fifth day, Dr. D.V.L.N. Somayajulu, Prof. CSE Dept, NITW covered Data Science concepts, PCA and outlier analysis using R. He also conducted test for participants using Plickers.

Last day Dr. Phani Bhushan presented Hands-on on NoSQL and MongoDB.

The participants gave very good feedback on the sessions and facilities provided. The valedictory function is presided by Dr. Akhil Khare, Prof. & Head CSE Dept., Mr. Veereshalingam, Prof. CSE Dept. MEC, Dr.A.V.Krishna Prasad, CSE Dept and Dr Nikitha, IT Dept. The Workshop ended with Vote of Thanks by Dr.Nikitha.
