Three-Day Workshop on Big Data & Hadoop with Hands-on

The Departments of Computer Science & Engineering and Information Technology , MVSR Engineering College has conducted a Three-Day Workshop on “Big Data & Hadoop with Hands-on” on 15th Feb 2018 – 17th Feb 2018 under ISTE Chapter In association with Robokart which mainly concentrated on Hands-on Experience. Total of 75 particpants including Faculty ,UG &PG Students of M.V.S.R Engineering College and other Colleges.
On 15th Feb 2018, the Inaugural function started with a prayer song followed by lighting the lamp by the Chief Guest, Professor J.Prasannakumar ,CSE Department, Principal Dr. G.Kanakadurga , Vice-Principal Prof SGS Murthy, Dr Akhil Khare ,Head of CSED, Dr.CH. Samson,Head of IT ,Dr. G. Venkata Subbaiah , Head of Automobile Engineering and Executive Council Member of ISTE addressed the gathering.Keynote address on “ Big Data in real world ” was delivered by Professor J.Prasanna kumar.
The resource persons were Mr Jagrat Maheshwari and Mr Prateek from Robokart. The participants were given hands-on experience on Apache Hadoop Architecture, HDFS Programming Basics, Map-reducing Programming for these three days.
The valedictory function is presided by Hon’ble Principal Prof, Dr.G.Kanaka Durga, Dr Akhil Khare ,Head of CSED, Dr.CH. Samson,Head of IT,G.Vijay Kumar Associcate professor,CSE Dept, V.Ashwini Kumar, Associcate professor ,IT Dept. Participation certificates were distributed to the participants by Principal. Winner of the Contest, P.Jashwanth Reddy(Vardhaman Engineering College) was awarded Rs 1000 and the runner-ups were Keshav Agarwal(ITD) and B.Pooja(CSED).The Workshop ended with Vote of Thanks by B.Venkataramana, Assistant Professor, CSE Department.

This workshop was a great experience to the participants who were keen in enhancing their knowledge in Big Data & Hadoop. The Feedback from the participants about the workshop was excellent.
