MVSR Engineering College celebrated Engineers day on 15th September 2017 in Nadergul Campus as a part of Centenary Celebrations of Maturu Gopal Rao, Founder Chairman.         Prof., S. Ramchandram , Honorable Vice Chancellor of Osmania University was the chief guest and Dr.P.Laxminarayana, Dean Faculty of Engineering was the guest of honor for the occasion. The event began with invocation and Dr.K.P.Srinivasa Rao, Chairman Matrusri Education Society delivered the Welcome address congratulating the Vice Chancellor on his remarkable achievement of having secured A+ grade for the university in the recent NAAC assessment. He also indicated that honoring the Head of University would mean honoring ourselves.

Prof. V.Chandra Sekhar, Principal of the college presided over the function and conducted the proceedings.

Sri.MBS Purushotham, renowned Technocrat and Former Chairman of the MES graced the occasion.

Dean, Faculty of Engineering in his address exhorted students of engineering to perform well in their profession and that as teachers we had a great responsibility. He had indicated that students and staff must participate in community service for the benefit of society. He also advocated high end research towards pollution control in the automobile industry.

Prof. S. Ramachandram, Honorable Vice Chancellor spoke on the need to make Engineering Profession more in sync with the requirements in the industry. There was an urgent requirement in terms of skill development amongst upcoming engineers to ensure better employability. He regretted that only 7% of the output amongst engineers were employable in the industry while it was close to 20% in the recent past. He threw light on various governmental propositions like Make in India, Startups etc., He however expressed optimism that better employability and skill development was very much with in the reach and that engineering teachers must strive in that direction. He made an observation that faculty in such colleges engineer the engineering students.

Prof. SGS Murthy, Vice Principal of the College welcomed the past principals and outlined their contributions to the college. Six principals were felicitated on the occasion. Prof., Murthy read out citations in respect of the vice chancellor and also the dean who were honored on the occasion. The Vice Principal formally proposed the vote of thanks at the end of the session.
